Practice

These buttons tell the system how well you knew the word:

  • Again - You didn't know it at all. You'll see this card again in about 10 minutes.
  • Hard - You struggled but eventually remembered. You'll see it again in about 1 hour.
  • Good - You knew it after thinking. You'll see it again tomorrow.
  • Easy - You knew it instantly. You'll see it again in 4 days.

Spaced repetition is a learning technique based on how memory works. When you correctly remember a word, the interval before you see it again grows (1 day → 3 days → 1 week → 1 month, etc.). Words you struggle with appear more frequently. This way, you spend more time on difficult words and less time on easy ones, making your study time more efficient.

This is by design! If you marked a card as "Again" or "Hard", it will reappear sooner to help you learn it. This is part of the spaced repetition system - repeated exposure helps transfer words to long-term memory. The more consistently you remember a word, the less often you'll see it.

In Flashcard mode, you see the word, think of the answer, then flip the card to check. You rate yourself honestly. In Typing mode, you type the translation and your answer is checked automatically. For cards with example sentences containing bold words, you fill in a gap with the correct vocabulary word. Typing mode is more challenging but helps with spelling and learning words in context. Both modes use the same spaced repetition system.

For Teachers

Go to "Students" in your dashboard sidebar. You can either use "Quick Create" to add students one at a time (username and password are auto-generated), or use "Import Students" to upload a CSV file with multiple students. After creating accounts, give students their login credentials.

Go to your deck and click "Import Cards". Paste a list of vocabulary with one entry per line (e.g. apple;Apfel). You can also add example sentences as a third column. Preview the import and confirm to add all cards at once.

Yes! Go to "Performance" in your dashboard to see detailed statistics. You can view progress by class or individual student, including cards studied, accuracy rates, last activity dates, and time spent practicing. This helps you identify students who might need extra help.

Paste any text into the bulk import field and click "Extract Vocabulary". Our AI identifies 3-10 vocabulary words, provides translations, and can generate example sentences. You can edit everything in the preview table before saving to your deck.

The teacher may have unassigned the deck from the student. Progress is always saved - if the deck is reassigned later, all previous progress will still be there.

For Students

Start with reviewing all your "due" cards each day - these are cards the system has scheduled for review. For new cards, 10-20 per day is a good goal. Consistency is more important than quantity - practicing 15 minutes daily is better than 2 hours once a week.

Yes! On your dashboard, click "Add to Personal Deck" to add your own vocabulary cards. Enter the word and its translation, and your personal cards will appear in your practice flow alongside teacher-assigned vocabulary. Your personal vocabulary is private.

Yes! Cards from your personal decks appear in your main practice flow alongside teacher-assigned vocabulary. All your vocabulary is practiced together using the spaced repetition system.
